Every second Thursday of the month I attend a Graphic Novel Book Club and have been for about 4.5 years (turns out having awesome hobbies can also help you score a super sweet job). This months read was The Wicked + The Divine written by Kieron Gillen with artist Jamie McKelvie. If you haven't seen Jamie McKelvie's artwork before Google the hell out of this eye candy. I will read anything that man is a part of because everything that man creates is a masterpiece. As far as Kieron Gillen's work goes I really enjoy his writing when he is not being a hipster music snob. Seems harsh but seriously go read Phonogram and tell me you don't agree. I am certainly not the target audience for that piece and I say power to those who are!
All that being said I did enjoy this months read. It won't ever be one of my favorites but I do look foward to seeing how they progress the narrative. The bones are there it is just really lacking the muscle and meat. If you want to read something that is smack full of outwardly beautiful people this is just the thing for you.
